Podcast Reflection: Episode 11

I had intended to do this blog entry (titled “10 Episodes in the Books”) a few weeks ago, but it didn’t quite happen.
As Scott & I head into our 12th episode, the point of the post remains the same: taking a moment to reflect on this wonderful podcast ride that started in the spring and powers on as we head into fall.
On the tech front, two early setup learnings, at least for our needs: the boom mic arm is essential and the pop filter is not—good pivot, driven by Scott, to ditch the fairly frustrating pop filter attachment; we seem to be A-OK minding our ‘P’s, B’s, and T’s.
On the scheduling side, a good, annoyingly stubborn stance from me to convince Scott we should not switch the recording of Episode #5 to before Game 5 of the NBA Championship. I think we would’ve done just fine chatting about a loss, but hitting the mics after the NY Knicks first title in 53 years—short sleep and all—was something we’ll never forget.
With 11 episodes in the books, it’s been a ton of fun; as Scott & I work our way through each session, we’re extremely ok to be perfectly imperfect. And maybe more than anything, we love to make each other laugh.
(P.S. There’s nothing better than doing a pod with your good friend for 50+ years. Why Not Us indeed!)
